Welcome to the Lubbock Composite Squadron, TX-293.

We hope that you will take a moment to check us out and see what Civil Air Patrol has to offer you.

Our mission is:

"To serve America by developing our Nation's youth; performing local, state and national emergency and humanitarian missions; and educating our citizens on the impact of aviation and space."

Our Motto is:

Semper Vigilans” -Always Watchful

The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force, authorized by the U.S. Congress on Dec 1, 1941. CAP is probably known best for its search and rescue operations, but CAP provides many more valuable services to our nation. CAP is best understood by looking at its three, Congress-mandated missions: Emergency Services, Aerospace Education, and Cadet Programs. Each mission is interconnected with the others and provides numerous ways in which members can contribute to their community, state, and nation. The CAP owns the largest fleet of single engine piston aircraft in the United States. CAP pilots fly these aircraft on missions ranging from search and rescue, to disaster relief, to counter-drug operations. The CAP operates at the request of the United States Air Force, Homeland Security, and other government agencies. In addition, CAP maintains one of the largest emergency communications networks in the nation. Safety is a critical priority within the CAP and is vital to the success of all our missions.
